Procedure for Appointment

A person interested in becoming a missionary through Missions Door qualifies through a five-step appointment procedure.

Step 1 – Acquaintance

The appointment process is initiated by your submission of a Ministry Profile Worksheet.

Step 2 – Assessment

A Ministry Director or Ministry Specialist will do an assessment interview with you and your spouse (if you are married) to review your Ministry Profile.

Step 3 – Application

Upon a positive recommendation from the assessment interview, you will complete an application supplying us with names of people whom we will contact to provide personal references. A criminal background check will be performed for U.S. citizens and legal aliens.

Step 4 – Affirmation

The Personnel Department will gather references and complete a background check. Once your file is reviewed and approved by the Personnel Department, the completed file will be sent to the Ministry Director.

Step 5 – Appointment

The Ministry Director will make the final appointment decision and may utilize an interview committee as part of the process. The Ministry Director will stipulate the category of ministry and term of service.
