Printable Ministry Summary - Spanish (PDF)
The need in the United States for new Latino churches is great. A new wave of immigrants from Latin American countries needs to be evangelized.
The last United States census revealed that the Latino population had grown to 35.3 million, becoming the largest minority group in the country (12.5% of the U.S. population). According to the U.S. Census, 72% of the Latino population still speak Spanish at home, so the need for Spanish-speaking congregations is a high priority.
Because of the significant connections between Latinos in the United States and the rest of Latin America, all of our Spanish-language ministries are related under one Ministry Director.
The Latino Ministry Fund is used for literature and Bibles to train new believers, equipment and musical instruments to help new churches communicate the gospel in relevant ways, transportation assistance to cover the cost of seminars and training for Latino pastors, and other pertinent ministry needs that would enhance the planting of new Latino churches in the United States and other Spanish-speaking countries.
Joaquin Vargas, who serves as the Director of Latino and Caribbean Ministries, oversees and coordinates the distribution of this fund.
