FIELD
After Larry graduated from Denver Seminary in 1968, the Marlatts joined Missions Door and started the Campus Ambassadors ministry at CU-Boulder.

After twenty years on campus, Larry and Kay heard about the spiritual formation and leadership development needs of the inner-city churches in Denver. They responded to God’s leading and moved to Denver, where they are doing Theological Education by Extension through the Urban Academy (URBACAD) ministry of Missions Door.

Larry says, “Living and ministering in the inner city is an inspiring challenge. The rich diversity of culture and churches amid poverty, drugs, and gangs is challenging, and the love and dedication of the urban Christians is inspiring.”

As director of URBACAD, Larry trains inner-city believers in evangelism, discipleship, and leadership. URBACAD has trained over 500 lay people and church leaders from 18 to 75 years of age.

Also, with the help of ten Christian organizations, Larry spearheaded the effort to create American Pathways University (APU) in Denver, which offers degrees in practical theology, human services, business, and leadership.
