U.S. Latino Ministry Advisor

U.S. Latino

FIELD
For many years Will and Hildegard were involved in a variety of ministries in Brazil, mostly focused on the growth of churches, leaders and associations of churches. But in October 1994 they transferred from WorldVenture to Missions Door to be involved in ethnic ministries.

They live in Eugene, Oregon, and seek to help individuals and churches get involved in reaching the foreigners who are now living in their communities.

They work especially with Latinos, and by 2007 had helped start new Hispanic ministries in Eugene, Albany, Newport and Cornelius, all in Oregon. They desire to help more churches reach their Spanish-speaking neighbors. In 2008 and 2009 Will served as the U.S. Latino Ministry Coordinator of Missions Door.

FAITH
Will became a Christian when he was a freshman at the University of Oregon. After graduating in 1965, he went to Dallas Theological Seminary for two years, and it was there that God gave him a desire to serve as a foreign missionary. He received a Master of Divinity degree from Western Seminary in 1969.

Hildegard is from Germany. Her parents served as missionaries in China, and the Lord used them and others to give her a desire to become a missionary herself. She graduated from a nursing school and a Bible school in Germany and studied more English in England.

FAMILY
Will and Hildegard went as single missionaries to South Brazil, where, in 1975, they met and married. Some people still remember them as “Will and Hil from Brazil.” They have two children, Dan and Andrea.
