Stephen and Molly O'Riley
FIELD
Stephen and Molly were appointed as Interns with Campus Ambassadors at The College at Brockport (also known as SUNY Brockport) in November 2010. They are student leaders and worship coordinators. Molly will also be running a women’s Bible study on campus.
Stephen grew up in a Christian home around worship leaders and teachers in the faith. He began leading worship at a young age, and has continued to do so at every church and ministry he’s been a part of. Stephen was the bass guitarist for the original Access band at The Fathers House, and was available to anybody in need of last minute help. He’s studying to become a history teacher, mostly because of his calling to work with youth. He volunteers at a non-profit summer camp for underprivileged urban youth called Camp Daydreams.
He has a heart for the city, having grown up in an urban setting and attending urban schools. He hopes to be able to teach at the high school level and also speak to the lives of young adults. His heart is also for the nations. While attending Elim Bible Institute, Stephen worked with international students from the University of Rochester, while teaching English as a Second Language. Campus Ambassadors is the perfect place for both his callings to flourish and be used.
Molly, too, has a burning desire to see God’s purpose fulfilled through her. She has worked in children’s ministry for over five years, and has a heart to be the hands and feet of Christ in an educational setting, which is why she is studying Arts for Children at Brockport.
“Being an intern with Campus Ambassadors is an amazing opportunity for both of us to have an impact on our campus while we are still students. Our peers need Jesus so badly, and it is such a privilege to bring the love of the Creator into the classroom and in everything we do.”
Molly also worked with the Rochester Literacy Ministry while studying at Elim Bible Institute, as well as being a counselor for Camp Daydreams during the summer. She wants to see her fellow education students transformed by the love of Christ, so that they in turn may have the opportunity to bring God’s love to an entire generation of upcoming youth.
“LORD, I have heard of your fame; I stand in awe of your deeds, LORD. Repeat them in our day, n our time make them known; in wrath remember mercy.” Habakkuk 3:2
FAITH
Molly was saved early on in life, and continued to grow in her faith. Although she tried to walk away for a short period in high school, God did not stop pursuing her heart. In the fall of 2007 she came to Elim Bible Institute, where He healed the hurts that she had been holding onto for far too long and called her to education and ministry.
Like his wife,Stephen accepted Christ at an early age, and grew in his faith and relationship with Jesus. After high school he backslid away from Christ, but the Lord did not leave him alone. In the fall of 2007 God led him to Elim Bible Institute, brought healing into his life and gave him a heart towards education and ministry
“Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.” Proverbs 3:5-6
FAMILY
Stephen and Molly both were raised in loving, God-fearing, and Bible-believing homes. They met each other at Elim Bible Institute in the fall of 2007, and the rest is history. They were married in Rochester, New York in June 2010. Both are completely trusting in God’s plan for their lives and excited to see where His adventure will take them.
