Francois Picard
FIELD
François’ vision is to equip local churches, pastors, and leaders to develop new workers, that each pastor would have his own Timothy. With his warm and enthusiastic heart, François is helping churches establish training plans to train their new generation of workers and missionaries.
He encourages them to reinforce the vision of leadership training, mainly in the area of character and habits, as he coaches young pastors to have a network of accountability. His goal is that each pastor will train his church to reach and disciple precious souls to the glory of God.
FAITH
François was born into a Roman Catholic family in Montreal, Quebec. At age 14 he heard the Gospel for the first time, and seven years later he received Jesus Christ as his Lord and Saviour. He began to share his faith and had the joy of leading several people to Christ.
Hélène accepted Christ at age 25 and also brought individuals to the cross.
God called François with this verse: “By faith Abraham, when called to go to a place he would later receive as his inheritance, obeyed and went, even though he did not know where he was going.”
He first trained for seven years at St. Hyacinthe Baptist Church, and then graduated from Séminaire Baptiste Evangélique du Québec (SEMBEQ) in 1985.
In the fall of 1998, after many years of fruitful pastoral ministry, SEMBEQ asked François to serve the churches and pastors of the Fellowship of Evangelical Baptist Churches in Quebec. He became president of SEMBEQ in 2000.
FAMILY
François and Hélène were married in 1990 and Hélène went home to be with the Lord in 2011. Jérémie is François’only son.
