Procedure for Appointment

If your interest in becoming a missionary through Missions Door has been reinforced by working through the Preliminary Self-Assesment questions, we’d love to hear from you.  Our procedure for appointment involves a four-step process.

Step 1 – Application
The appointment process is initiated by your submission of the completed Application and accompanying forms.

Step 2 – Affirmation
Upon a positive recommendation from your church pastor, you will complete a form supplying us with names of people whom we will contact to provide personal references. A criminal background check will be performed for U.S. citizens and legal aliens.

Step 3 – Assessment
A Ministry Director or Ministry Specialist will do an assessment interview with you and your spouse (if you are married) to review your file.

Step 4 – Appointment
The Ministry Director will make the final appointment decision and may utilize an interview committee as part of the process. The Ministry Director will stipulate the category of ministry and term of service.
