Daniel and Odi are from Santa Lucia Cotzumalguapa Escuintla, on the southern coast of Guatemala. After working for almost ten years in a sugar mill, God calls Daniel and Odi to serve Him at their local church in different leadership roles and then serving full time. God used different circumstances so that Daniel and Odi went to study at the Central American Theological Seminary (SETECA) at Guatlemala capital city; the place where their life and ministry were forged to be what they are today. Thanks to God’s faithfulness, they finished their theological studies in 2005. Odi and Daniel served as pastors for ten years in a church in Guatemala City, and after that, they were able to receive training in church planting and discipleship, from there they began to work planting new churches. The Brans have gained influence by developing leaders, pastors, and churches in Central America, Cuba, Spain, Mexico, the American Union, and their country, Guatemala. Their main calling is Church Planting and Discipleship. Currently, they work in the city of Antigua Guatemala, and their main goal is to plant a church in each of the 16 municipalities in the department of Sacatepequez. Daniel is officially enrolled in the doctoral program at the School of Antioquia in Ames Iowa.
Daniel knew the Lord when he was a child, guided by his mother since she has been a faithful Christian. Every day they memorized Bible verses and held their family reunion; so Daniel had the privilege of coming to the Lord from an early age. He was baptized in his church and from a young age, he served in different circumstances. Daniel has known Odi since she was in high school. Odi did not know the Lord and it was until years later that he accepted the Lord one day at a Sunday School. Thus, she begins her search and service to the Lord and by marrying Daniel 25 years ago they started to serve together as Sunday School teachers, youth leaders and eventually Daniel becomes a member of the local Church elders team. Daniel’s talents and abilities were discovered by his pastor back then and he motivated him to serve the Lord full time. Today, Odi is an excellent counselor, and discipler and Daniel is a simple, visionary, and entrepreneurial leader. Together they work to win souls to Christ and make them grow in faith.
After dating for two years, Daniel and Odi got married in 1995 and the Lord has blessed them with three children: Pablo (24), Danny (21), and Marco (17). When they were a young family, they served several times in their local church. However, they never thought that God would call them to serve Him full time, training in Theology, and Cross-Cultural Missions. Now the Brans are ready to take another step in their ministerial life by joining Missions Door as International Associate Ministers to begin a church planting project from La Antigua Guatemala Sacatepequez, Guatemala to the world. Their immediate goal is to plant house churches throughout the 16 municipalities of the department of Sacatepequez; municipalities that surround the city of Antigua Guatemala. The first church already started is in San Felipe de Jesus Antigua Guatemala.
Daniel obtained a scholarship to study Electronics and Computer Science at Hesston College, Hesston Kansas in the United States and upon returning, Daniel began to work in a Sugar Mill on the south coast of Guatemala and at the same time, he studied Business Administration and Science of computing at a local university.
