Service Area: International

Role: Signs of Love Deaf Ministry

Ministry Focus

Kathryn was appointed with Missions Door in 2017 and serves full-time with Signs of Love Deaf Ministry in Peru bringing language to the unreached deaf community.  She is focused on growing the deaf church through teaching sign language, training, discipling, and counseling the deaf.

Faith Story

Kathryn made a decision to completely surrender her life to Jesus and follow Him her sophomore year in college. She quickly began to see God’s intricate plan to draw her to Himself and after taking a perspectives class, came to realize God’s passion to draw people of every tribe, tongue and nation to Himself. Because of this, it has become her passion to see all people groups worship the King of Kings.

After taking American Sign Language in college, God began to open her eyes to a people group that, in many places, did not have access to language, let alone the Gospel.

Kathryn served in the Deaf Kids Ministry at the Austin Stone Community Church in Austin, Texas before moving to Honduras where she first began working with Signs of Love. She is passionate about seeing all people groups come into the Kingdom, including deaf people groups all over the world, and continues to live out God’s call for her life in Peru.

Kathryn got her degree in General Studies: Education from the University of Mary Hardin Baylor in Belton, Texas.
