Ministry Focus

Jordan has been deeply involved in youth and college ministry in the local church for the past decade. While watching the great numbers of students entering college who are falling away from God and the church, his heart has grown heavy for this group, which he believes, are the future leaders of the church. Along with this, Jordan hopes to use his years of experience as a worship leader and trainer to further equip students to take active roles in leading God’s people into sincere God-glorifying worship.

Judy had been deeply involved with the college population as a Resident Director and Student Activities assistant at Salem State University for a number of years. It was through the journey of giving her life to Christ, professing her faith to people and connecting to students through their life changes in college and curiosity for God that she was able to start a small bible study and discipleship with students. In the summer of 2014, Judy resigned from her full time job at SSU and took on full time support raising and ministry planting with Jordan for Becker College in Leicester, MA.

Faith Story

Jordan was blessed to grow up in a Christian home with parents and older siblings who modeled for him God’s love. He understood at a young age the salvation through Jesus Christ that was offered to him. It wasn’t until he was 14 that he really surrendered his life to Christ and understood that there were greater things to live for than this world could offer.

For 10 years Judy struggled with her lukewarm lifestyle until she was in her graduate program at Salem State University. In 2011, she had an encounter with the presence of the Lord in her apartment in Newton, MA where she understood that forfeiting the pleasures of the world was a path to embark on the real true love relationship with Christ.

Family

Jordan and Judy met at the Logan airport in Boston en route to the Missions Door orientation in Denver, CO. Both remained good friends and later entered a yearlong courtship before getting married in April of 2016. They live in Spencer, MA where they have planted college ministry and discipleship for Becker College.

Jordan’s parents are Ron and Wendy Heersink. He also has six older siblings and one younger brother.

Judy is one of seven siblings. Her mother is Florabla Vargas Garcia from San Fransisco de Macoris, Dominican Republic and her father is Angel Garcia from Manhattan, NY of Puerto Rican heritage.
