Alyssa has been with Missions Door since the Spring of 2015 when she was appointed as an intern for a year. After taking a break from ministry she returned in December of 2017 to Fitchburg State University to continue her internship.
In January of 2019, Alyssa was appointed as a full time Field Minister to work at Worcester State University. Alyssa has a passion to serve college students since she herself accepted Christ as a sophomore in college at the age of nineteen.
Alyssa knows her generation needs Jesus, and she is living proof that college ministry can turn someone’s life around. She wants to be a part of that positive change for other people – to see someone else’s life transformed because of the impact Jesus has had on them through college ministry. In college, students have a million decisions in front of them; majors, friends, clubs, sports, classes, lifestyles, the list goes on. Campus ministry gives the opportunity to show students who Jesus is and allow Him to be one of those decisions.
Alyssa grew up in a Catholic home and attended Catholic middle and high schools. She never knew what a personal relationship with Jesus was until she entered college.
After some difficult high school years, Alyssa realized that the “typical college lifestyle” was not worth it, and at that point, she was desperately searching for a purpose in the world.
At the age of nineteen, she made the decision to follow Jesus wholeheartedly, and since then, campus ministry has been a major influence in her growth in Christ.
Alyssa is an only child of two supportive parents in Worcester, MA. Her extended and “adopted” families are also extremely supportive and she is thankful to have them all in her life.
