Alyssa is a student intern who was appointed by Missions Door to serve at Fitchburg State University in Fitchburg, Massachusetts. Alyssa found Campus Ambassadors in the fall of 2013 and has been a devoted member of the ministry ever since. She says,
“I love this organization. I love it because it has provided me with the most amazing family I ever could’ve asked for. It’s taught me what it really means to be a disciple of Christ. I’ve seen people come to Christ because of the work this organization does. I’ve experienced God in real, tangible, amazing ways through Campus Ambassadors and it’s changed my life, forever.”
Alyssa knows her generation needs Jesus. And she is living proof that college ministry can turn someone’s life around. She wants to be a part of that positive change for other people – to see someone else’s life transformed because of the impact Jesus has had on them through college ministry.
Alyssa’s time as a student in campus ministry has taught her that God has work for us to do.
“For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things He planned for us long ago.” Ephesians 2:10 NLT
Alyssa grew up in a Catholic home and attended Catholic middle and high schools. She never knew what a personal relationship with Jesus was until she entered college.
After some difficult high school years, Alyssa realized that the “typical college lifestyle” was not worth it, and at that point, she was desperately searching for a purpose in the world.
At the age of nineteen, she made the decision to follow Jesus wholeheartedly, and since then, campus ministry has been a major influence on her growth in Christ.
Alyssa is an only child who lives with her two very supportive parents in Worcester, MA. Her extended family is also extremely supportive and she is thankful to have them all in her life.
