Jess was appointed with Missions Door in April 2017 as a Campus Ambassadors Intern at SUNY Oneonta in New York. She desires to help students who are currently in the same place she was before she met Christ. She has a heart for students consumed by the distractions and false promises of this world. Being able to relate to other students, she loves to encourage them towards the hope that only resides in Christ and challenge them to move forward according to God’s will.
Jess also has a desire to connect students with the local church to establish relationships with the body of Christ during this new chapter of their lives. She knows being connected to a church provides students with opportunities to grow in their faith and serve different ministries within the church.
Jess grew up in a Christian home but never understood what it meant to be a Christian or have a relationship with Christ. When she left home for college she was rebellious and angry. She found herself caught up in the world and made poor choices. After various attempts to help herself with things of the world, Jess began going to Campus Ambassadors.
One night at a winter retreat, she finally understood the love of Christ and accepted him as Lord and Savior. Since that night, she has turned 180 degrees and, by the grace of God, is a new person who loves sharing the Good News she received that night.
Jess feels called to serve Christ through missions, primarily working with youth and young adults on the campuses of SUNY Oneonta and Hartwick College.
Jess recently relocated to Oneonta, New York. She grew up in Rochester, New York where her mom and two dogs currently live. Her brother and sister also live in Rochester, and make frequent trips to visit Jess and her Campus Ambassadors team.
