Enfoque ministerial
Ndulu Sabuni was appointed with Missions Door in August 2022 as a Field Minister serving in Denver, Colorado. God has called Ndulu to use his language skills to translate theological leadership and training materials into Swahili. He is also leading an online cohort in Swahili with CB Matrix.
Ndulu is deeply involved with Come to Jesus Ministries, a multicultural church in Denver where people speak Swahili, English, Kirundi, French, Kinyarwanda, and other tribal languages. He is a songwriter, worship leader, and also preaches. He oversees and directs the church’s choir, Christ’s Ambassadors Choir.
Historia de fe
Ndulu was born in the Eastern Democratic Republic of Congo in a place where the rooster’s crow served as the morning alarm clock. Pottery was utilized for water refrigeration. Kerosene and petroleum lamps were used as electricity. The roads were poor and water supplies were unreliable. Today, warfare has led to serious violations of basic human rights. Consequently, the number of orphaned children has risen dramatically in time with HIV infection and war, and poverty is a growing concern. All these issues have serious ramifications for children, young adults, and mature men and women struggling to provide for their families.
Ndulu was raised in a Christian family within an Assemblies of God church. His grandfather, Ndulu Sabuni, was a senior pastor of the church from 1960 to 1995, and both his father and his mother were involved in the church.
In 1996, he experienced the civil war in the Eastern DRC and decided to relocate to Tanzania. He often wonders what life would be like for him if it were not for God’s grace and protection. From 1997 – 2010, Ndulu lived in a refugee camp where he experienced a restless life but could also always be found singing praise. Jesus Christ was everything to him and he had thousands upon thousands of reasons to serve Him.
In 2010, Ndulu moved to the US where he began getting involved in the church and serving God within Come to Jesus Ministries church. He began working for Ecumenical Refugees and Immigration services where he helped thousands of refugees with English interpretation services.
Currently, he works for Lutheran Family Services Rocky Mountains in the Refugees and Asylees Program. He provides case management and employment services to new refugees in the Denver metro area. He also uses his language skills daily to help refugees communicate with their respective service providers and understand the program better.
