Enfoque ministerial

Mahala fue aprobada como Candidata Misionera con Missions Door en agosto de 2023 para servir con Campus Ambassadors en Oregon State University. Ella experimentó lo que es sentirse perdida en la universidad y lo que significa tener compañeros cristianos fuertes caminando a su lado, mostrando el amor de Cristo a través de sus palabras y acciones. El objetivo de Mahala es establecer una comunidad cristiana en el campus donde los estudiantes puedan sentirse seguros para hacer preguntas, aprender quién es Cristo, crecer en la relación con Cristo, y ser edificados como discípulos de Jesús ¡dando a conocer Su nombre! Su esperanza es que los estudiantes que llegan a conocer a Cristo vayan a la iglesia y experimenten a la comunidad como el cuerpo y a Cristo como la cabeza.

A Mahala le encanta estar al aire libre y participar en actividades que van desde el senderismo en las montañas hasta jugar al voleibol de arena. También disfruta de una noche de juegos/películas con sus amigos. Cuando está sola, le gusta pintar o leer con un programa de fondo.

Historia de fe

Mahala was raised in a Christian home which split around middle school. From then on, she struggled with balancing her identity as a Christian and her identity rooted in the world. Upon starting college, with her newfound freedom to make choices for herself, she decided she didn't want or need God anymore. She found the world more appealing. This led to a lifestyle that drove her down a dark hole of depression and anxiety. She felt empty and alone. In the middle of winter term in her sophomore year, she had hit rock bottom and saw that the world would not provide love or fulfillment. She turned to this college ministry that had pursued her throughout her college experience. The students in this ministry lived by example which pointed Mahala to Christ and His sacrificial love for her! She found she would only find the love she craved in Christ Jesus! These students continued to walk alongside her, showing grace and patience, raising her up in the ways of a follower of Christ. This eventually resulted in her becoming a student leader for the ministry! Two years after graduating college and figuring out life, college ministry continued to be a desire in her heart as she knew there were many more students like herself that needed to be reached with the Gospel. After praying about what that would look like to pursue, God opened the door to Campus Ambassadors at Oregon State University. Now she gets to walk alongside other students who feel lost like she did and point them to the one who saves and transforms!

Educación

Mahala obtuvo su licenciatura en Psicología en la Universidad Estatal de Oregón y actualmente está trabajando en su Maestría en Liderazgo Cristiano en línea a través de la Universidad Grand Canyon.
