Ministry Focus

Mark and Brenda lead the ministry of English Fellowship of Guadalajara, Mexico. It is a church with Christians from different countries, different cultures, and different church backgrounds. The common ground that unites the people is love for Jesus and a desire to grow in relationship with Him.

It is a welcoming place for people who’ve moved to Mexico from all over the world – especially those who don’t speak Spanish and might be feeling a bit lost. It’s like a family for internationals, offering friendship and a space to grow in faith. The membership worships God together in English and shares many meals together.

Mark takes care of teaching, guiding the group spiritually, and supporting new believers. Brenda keeps many things running smoothly and making sure everyone feels included.

English Fellowship is more than just a church—it’s a lifeline for internationals who are far from home and searching for Christian friends. People who are not yet believers are also attracted to the church because of the friendly atmosphere. By being centered on Christ and His grace, lives are transformed and the love of God is shared in a real and meaningful way.

Faith Story

Mark accepted Jesus at age 13 at a Christian school. At 16, he joined a church with a strong missions program, which had a big influence on him. A few years after beginning a career as a police officer in his hometown of Santa Cruz, California, he felt a call to missions. While studying toward that goal, he continued as a patrol officer for ten more years and gained valuable experience working among poor immigrants from Latin America. Brenda was born and raised in Guatemala City. She accepted Christ at one of Missions Door’s churches in Guatemala. The two met when Mark led a construction project there in 2000. After getting married, they worked with Mayan youth for 16 years in the Western Highlands of Guatemala. They began a new adventure in Mexico in 2018.
