Josías and Cristina Ramirez

Missionary Profile

Ministry Focus

Josías was appointed with Missions Door on November 2, 2022 as a church planter in Mexico. Josías plans to open a training center for Christian pastors and counselors with a focus on the interpretation, teaching, application, authority, and sufficiency of the Bible. He also hopes to see new churches planted in his city that has a population of one million.

To accomplish his goals, he started by training current leaders to equip them to train others to serve. He also has the desire of working on training members of the church to become Biblical Counselors. Finally, he has implemented an evangelistic program to entrust the responsibility of evangelism to Christians in the church because without their effort and involvement, evangelism through the church won’t be complete.

Josías graduated from Nogales Baptist Seminary in 2020 and received ministry training by preaching in different churches. In 2021, he served in Iglesia Bíblica Esmirna, in Nogales Sonora as a Disciple of the Ministry, which helped him see the need for biblical counseling and pastoring in the church. This moved him to start a Biblical Studies course at his church in April 2023.

Currently, Josías pastors at Iglesia Bautista Sión in Culiacán Sinaloa, which is the church he grew up in, and where he was ordained as a Pastor February 16th, 2024. He has been working in the translation of multiple speakers, and partnered closely with the Exchange Bible Study in the translation of The Exchange Bible seminar through the northern part of Mexico.

Faith Story

Josías was born and raised in a Christian household. His father is a pastor and growing up, Josías would hear the gospel every day. But it wasn’t until he was a teenager that he truly heard God’s Word within his heart and understood his need for salvation.

Cristina was born in a Catholic household. When she was a teenager, her mother was saved, and Cristina attended a Christian church and heard the gospel. It was then that God revealed her own pride and need for salvation.

Family

Josías and Cristina met while he was a seminary student and was serving at an annual women’s banquet. Josías and Cristina were married on September 30, 2022 and both feel called to teach and serve within the church.

Education

Josías studied at Nogales Baptist Seminary and received his degree in theology as well as receiving training in biblical counseling. He is working towards keeping studying, looking forward to studying for a Masters Degree in Biblical Counseling.
