Ministry Focus
Martha Namachanja Wafula's ministry focuses on reaching unreached communities and regions around her with the Good News of the Kingdom of God through evangelism, discipleship, and the empowerment of women. She equips women with skills that will help them serve their generation better through the Love of God in Action. She works closely with local leaders and trainers, fostering transformation that touches both spiritual and physical needs. Her ministry is deeply rooted in the Word of God, prayer, and fellowship with believers.
Her vision is to see Jesus Christ worshiped in every village and every language by local people who understand the needs of their own communities. She desires to see home-based Bible churches develop and grow after evangelism, strengthening believers in God’s Word, prayer, love, and unity in Christ.
By partnering with Missions Door, Martha seeks to advance God’s Kingdom and empower others to fulfill the Great Commission. Her passion is to pour into the lives of those around her, teaching and inspiring them to reach out and disciple others—bringing in the spiritual harvest.
Faith Story
Martha became a Christian in 1988 after a friend shared with her that Jesus Christ could heal not only her body but also her spirit. At the time, she had been suffering from a long illness. Although she was raised in a Christian family within the Salvation Army Church, and her loved ones had faithfully prayed for her healing, nothing seemed to work. Her parents had also sought various treatments for her wart disease, but there was no improvement.
One day, her friend invited her to a Christian Union meeting for high school students and encouraged her to have faith in the Lord. During that meeting, Martha was prayed for, and through a word of knowledge, she was healed. Within three days, her skin became as smooth and new as that of a child—just as the Servant of God had prophesied. The Servant also told her that one day God would use her to spread His Good News, and that signs and wonders would accompany her ministry. Since the moment she said “yes” to Jesus Christ, Martha has indeed witnessed God’s power working through her life.
Martha met her husband, Michael Ikalur Obarasa, whom she introduced to Christ before they got married. They first met at her workplace, and felt a deep connection and love for each other from the moment they met. However, Martha and Michael could not proceed with marriage because, although Michael attended church, he had not yet accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior.
She began sharing her faith in Jesus with him and later introduced him to her pastor. After some time of prayer and guidance with their pastor, Michael came to her one day and said, “Pray for me to become a believer in Christ.” She prayed with him and led him in a prayer of repentance and confession, and in April 1993, he gave his life to Christ.
By the grace of God, the two were married and baptized on the same day—August 18, 1996—at the Church of God. Since then, their greatest desire has been to serve the Lord together through evangelism, discipleship, and transforming lives for the Kingdom of God. After learning about the vision and mission of Missions Door, they were overjoyed to see how closely aligned it is with their own calling. They are truly grateful for the opportunity to serve alongside Missions Door.
Family
Martha is married and blessed with four adult children—two sons, Shem and Barnabas, and two daughters, Sharon and Renzy. She is also a proud grandmother to Emmanuel Jayden.

She also has a friendly and reliable cat named Small, known for keeping the surroundings free from rats, rodents, and snakes that come from nearby farms and gardens.
